Yes! We finally have a Twitter account, to update all of our “fans” on every move we make, towards finishing our project. Whether it be us talking about going on another shoot for the book, or adding possible ideas for you guys to review!

Another early morning shoot. My favorite. :)
Today was another shoot, for the; “The Unseen OC” project!

So, for this post, I thought I would get more ‘personal’ and detailed in my blog posts, so here I go:

We started off early (6am, not too bad) and headed for Starbucks and some bagels :) Yay for Starbucks! THEN we were finally off for Falls Canyon. Falls Canyon is about half way to the start of Holy Jim, and it isn’t really a trail, more of a ‘follow the creek’ deal (like Black Star).

There were lots of smaller waterfalls, lots of salamanders, and LOTS of poison oak!

But the 0.5 mile hike was amazing! It was almost like a rain forest. So much green, nothing but tree cover, and EVERYTHING was moist and wet, and the trees from above dripped down on you as you hike. It’s quite the experience.

Anyway, so after the short hike, there it was. The 40 foot tall, Falls Canyon, fall!

Well! We did it! We finally decided to make a blog for “The Unseen OC!” Right now we are in the middle of shooting the locations we have found, along with brainstorming for the, soon-to-be, photo-book! So keep following the blog for more information, and possibly even a release date!

One of the major ideas we have come up with; each book will also come with a slideshow of the photos, and possibly some extras, on BluRay. Also, they will be sold privately, when we do finally finish. It is too soon to figure out a price, but we are going for no more than $50. We are still trying to determine the size of the book, but we are thinking 8″ x 8″, with no more than 25-50 photographs (some of those will be panoramas, taking up two pages. Then some pages for history) there would end up being around 20-40 pages.

We are also thinking about setting the “release date” back to possibly March of 2010. But this is still undecided. We would do this, so we could get some Fall photos in the book, and some snow\winter. We are also thinking about releasing the one we a re currently working on, sometime in hopefully August of 2009, and then maybe create and release other “versions” in the future (The Unseen OC: Summer. The Unseen OC: Fall. The Unseen OC: Winter. etc.).

If you have any suggestions, comments, concerns? Let us know!

Yay! A new blog post with lots of new pictures! Yesterday, was another long day of shooting for the project. First was Red Rock Canyon. This is a 51.9 Megapixel stitch, of 11 different photos taken vertically. Each at 17mm. That should tell you how BIG this was, in person.

Then, was the 8 hour hike to and from Black Star Canyon waterfall; which by the way, is MUCH bigger than the pictures make it look!

And on the way to the major waterfall, there were (of course) some smaller ones in the creek.

Then, after Black Star, was a short hike over to “The Sinks.” By the time we got there, the sun was JUST dropping below the horizon, so it was a little too dark to get the red of the canyon to “pop.”

Well; today was the first shoot, for our project! Holy Jim canyon, and falls, in the Cleveland National Forest. Yes. These photographs were taken in California :) Orange County, to be exact.

Doesn’t look like California, does it??

If you follow me on Twitter, you probably heard about this idea for a photo-book. If you don’t follow me on Twitter, don’t worry, because I barely said anything on the topic.

So. A few days ago, myself and my good friend Corey Schlom came up with an idea for a photo-book. Our idea, or concept, is to go around the small county of Orange County California, and photograph places that aren’t seen by the majority of people who live in this area. The purpose; to show what else is in Orange County, besides the rich people of Coto, Dove Canyon, and Ladera Ranch, and that Orange County isn’t full of those so-called ‘Real Housewives of Orange County.’ So, in this photo-book, we will have a wide range of photos taken from “hidden” places in Orange County, then we will give a bit of history on the location of where each photo was taken. That is another thing, many people don’t know about Orange County. There is A LOT of history behind everything, every location. So that is another reason for this photo-book. We are currently in the process of finding locations to shoot at; we have found close to 15 different places, spread all throughout Orange County. After this, we will move on to shooting. So of course, you guys will be some of the first to see the photos, from this ‘possibly soon-to-be’ photo-story-book
